A hardsurfacing alloy that is formulated to resist metal to metal wear, high temperature abrasion and impact
Procus 247 – the alloy formulation for resisting low stress abrasion as well as metal to metal wear.
- deposits take on a high polish to resist galling.
- maintains hardness to 648 ºc.
- resists low stress abrasion.
Dispersement of carbides ensures uniform hardness thoughout deposit
Procus 247 is a hardsurfacing alloy that has been formulated to lessen wear to components subjected to impact, metal-to-metal wear, low stress abrasion and wear when working at elevated temperatures.
Procus 247 is a hardsurfacing alloy that has iron powder, low hydrogen characteristics. The electrode provides a deposition rate of up to 50% higher than many conventionally coated hardfacing rods.
Weld deposits produced by procus 247 are extremely smooth thereby minimising frictional resistance, ie galling. Carbide dispersement throughout the deposit is also very uniform. This helps prevent localised wear as the deposited material is of uniform hardness. Additionally, the relatively low operating current of the electrode minimises heat input into the base metal. This reduces the amount of dilution of the base metal, ensuring that the deposit is capable of maximising its resistance against wear, impact etc.
Deposits of procus 247 will maintain their hardness in working temperatures up to 648 ºc (1,200 ºc). The deposits take on a high polish which, while providing maximum resistance against low stress abrasion, such as sand, will resist galling, thereby extending the service life of the components.
Other applications for procus 247 include the overlay of tube mill guides, cultivator shovels, plough shares and discs used in farming, frictional clutches, rolling mill guides, ore chutes such as those used in the coal industry or in any other application where low stress abrasion is of concern.
