Description
A molybdenum bearing alloy especially developed to protect equipment against abrasive wear media
Combat abrasive wear. Deposits of procus 230 have a consistent dispersement of chrome carbides throughout to provide maximum resistance against abrasion
- has a high proportion of primary carbides to resist abrasive wear.
- deposits develop a polish to resist wear a extend service life.
- moisture resistant flux coating to provide long shelf life.
- easy to apply with either ac or dc current.
Procus 230 hardsurfacing electrode is formulated to resist severe abrasion. Its ease of use makes it idea for the farming industry.
Wear is the perennial enemy of equipment and components used in many types of industries. On the land, and particularly in the rural industry, the movement of earth leads to the wear of farm equipment components causing downtime and the loss of production. Although the incidence of wear can be modified, nothing really stops it but any purpose designed material that slows its progress will assist to reduce the operating costs of those industries.
Procus 230 has been specifically formulated with the problems, in mind, of working the land. Deposits give superb resistance to abrasion, which is the most common form of wear associated with farming. Also, abrasion takes different forms. Generally it is either low stress or high stress. The more dense the material being worked, the higher the stress and thus, generally, the more rapid the wear.
In respect of farming, the soil in one paddock can be completely different to that of another and, thus, the wear patterns can differ. However, the rate of wear caused by low stress abrasion can be just as rapid, with certain materials, as that caused by high stress. What makes procus 230 appropriate, particularly for farming, is that it is formulated to give maximum resistance to those two different forms of abrasion while also providing good impact resistance to meet the conditions of rocky soils.
Procus 230 is extremely easy to use, even with low voltage welding machines and so its overall versatility makes it the ideal alloy for combating abrasion. It can also be use for brick and pipe augers, conveyor screws, dredge pump liners, agriculture tynes and discs etc.
Abrasion resistance: very good – hardness: rc 57 to 6o – multiple layers permissible
Impact resistance: fair to good – deposits relief check.
Recommended amps: 6 mm – 80 to 120; 8 mm – 120 to 175. 6 mm electrode ideal for overhead and vertical positions.
